Just a few years ago mushroom were not much popular but now they are famous all over India thanks to the changing Indian Palette. What more people have begun experimenting with different types of mushroom. Pretty much everyone is familiar with the regular white "button" mushrooms that are easily found in cartons in the supermarket. There are a wide range of mushrooms available apart from the most common button mushroom, the shitake mushroom, the oyster mushroom and so on.

Today Mushrooms can be used in almost all types of preparations, be it Indian, Continental, Chinese.....even Italian.

  1. Wash the mushrooms gently as they are very delicate and bruise easily. Cut the onions and the mushrooms length wise. Chop the tomatoes finely.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan, add the ginger garlic paste and saute. Now add the onions and the tomatoes and fry till the oil leaves the sides. Toss in the peas, mushrooms and the paneer. Add the salt, chilli powder, haldi powder and the garam masala.
  3. Cover and cook for 10 to 15 mins on low flame or till cooked. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
