Festive time can be very taxing for a woman, especially if you are like me who loves giving everything from home décor to homemade sweets a personal touch! Whereas home décor is comparably simple, with those lovely traditional and modern colourful lanterns, bright diyas and floating candles easily available in the market, selecting an assortment of sweets and chocolates for my Diwali Gift Box makes me confused and sceptical too. Confused, due to the array of dry fruit and milk sweets offered during this time and sceptical due to the expense, quality and value for the amount spent. It’s simply tough to get a good quality assorted chocolate box at a reasonable price. Chocolates are really very overrated here, and the blunt tasting ones devoid of flavours and loaded with cheap nuts really make you frustrated!  The readymade traditional sweets and savoury selection simply lack the homemade taste. The best way is making it yourself, with the best quality ingredients and of course your special recipe!  I always believed in adding a modern touch to traditions, especially in food. So my Diwali Mithai Box has Granola bars instead of Dry fruit burfis, and Nutella stuffed Cookies,Nankhatais and Coconut Biscuits instead of those overly sweet rawa ladoos( I personally don’t like them but choose to retain Besan Ladoos)and Savouries like chakalis are coupled with Cheese Crackers!

I agree it all is too time consuming and physically strenuous, but when you have a modern cookware, and simple appliances, coupled with kitchen tools that make your job easy, festival cooking will surely be  fun and exciting !

I am a complete online shopping buff, especially when it comes to buying gourmet foods, cooking appliances and kitchen tools, which are not locally available. In my hunt for some niche kitchen tools and bake ware for upgrading my kitchen, and prepare for the festive season, I discovered “www.magickart.in”! An E commerce portal dedicated towards providing and array of bake ware, cookware and kitchen tools for contemporary kitchen! The best part is the selection under each category has options both in economical as well as premium variety, for every budget! Shopping is simple with magickart.in!With an option for Cash on Delivery in addition to Credit card, Debit card and net banking , and free shipping across India for shopping above Rs.300. you might just give your local supermarket a miss!

Delighted I was to find the modern avatars of traditional CookwareKitchenware’s like microwaveable Signoraware Thali Set the sleek Pray lady stainless steel Sauce pan and swanky Kadhai's with a lid, JVL square kadhai, and an Anodised Pressure Cooker are sure to add a modern touch still retaining the traditional functionality in your kitchen! Its surprising to see dinner sets and serve ware in stainless steel look so very stylish. The “Alt Ctrl Del” bowl set  and the JVL  square jug  add a modern look to dinner tables.

For a bakeholic like me, the bake ware options got me excited! The Tala Multi colour whisk  looked cute, whereas the cake decorating tools like Master kitchen icing pen ,Tala icing tool set makes icing easy and its reusable too! Just load the Icing pen or the Tala squeeze bottles with your favourite jam or buttercream icing and pipe on your cakes or biscuits to make them interesting for kids. Tescoma Biscuit maker/Cake decorator have multiple shape extrusion options. So apart from regular cookies, you can give your sev a modern twist with a new shape! Tescoma Shell shape chocolate mould set and Christmas mould sets make for innovative shapes for homemade sweets. It would be interesting to mould Besan or Motichoor Ladoos or leftover kaju katlis or burfis in a bow or a bell shape . They can also be piped with jam and topped with tutti-frutti or nuts for a more interesting twist!  The Pavoni Chocolove silicon moulds add a gourmet look to homemade chocolates!

The Kitchen tool section had everything from traditional “belan’s” to modern cutters and graters. We found the Celltone Kitchen tool set(priced between 249 to 500) economical, as well as a good gifting option, along with the OXO GG Chopper priced at rs.1599. The Avani Oil Can(rs.120) ,Anjali multi slicer Rs 293 discounted) JVL Vegetable Chopper Steel (Rs .488 discounted) are simple tools that can modernise a kitchen at budget costs.

Some interesting Kitchen tools!

I was absolutely impressed to find the modern looks given to tiffin’s. Be it those traditional multi container stainless tiffin’s, or those lunch box sets enclosed in insulated zipper bags. Stylish canisters in glass, acrylic as well as food grade plastics offer a good storage option especially for this festive season.

lunch boxIn appliances, there is everything from Induction cooktops, Gas burner cooking range, food processors, Mixer grinders to modern coffee makers, rice cookers and so on.  Electric Irons and portable vacuum cleaners are also available in economical range.

With modern ,traditional and niche products offered at discounted prices, and a policy to sell only those products with an after sales service and a 30 day return policy, magickart.in is here to stay and offer a tough competition not only to local shops but also peers offering the same product line online. For us consumers, it’s a win-win situation. And “magickart.in” ensures we get no reason to complain and always return back to shop their ever increasing range!
